Held & Co. — Integrative Therapist
a space to be held, not fixed.
Integrative, relational therapy with Alice Gormer. In Herne Hill, London and online UK-wide.
Knowing why hasn't been enough
A lot of people I work with already have some awareness of what is going on. They can explain their patterns, their boundaries, their conditioning. Sometimes they can even explain it better than I or any other therapist could.
But they still find themselves in the same place.
Still saying “yes” when they mean no. Still managing how they come across. Still knowing what they want to do differently, but finding it difficult to do it when the moment actually comes.
That’s usually what brings someone to me. Not always a crisis. Sometimes it’s just a collection of moments that finally makes the gap between what you know and what you do impossible to ignore.
And that’s where I’m interested in working with you. Arrange a call →
Together, we try something different in real life. Most growth starts with doing the new and uncomfortable thing first, even if it is difficult, messy, imperfect. That, in fact, is the therapy itself.
Alice Gormer
Hi, I'm Alice, and I love what I do.

Underneath the title of ‘therapist’ is a human being who knows how it feels to struggle, and to keep trying your best to understand and make changes, but feeling like it is impossible to do that in real life.
That is what led me to become a therapist and create Held & Co.
Held & Co. is a space to be held, not fixed.
Held in what you have been through. What you are going through. How you are thinking and feeling. And given a space to explore and try something different.
A space to make those “mistakes”, and maybe even come to see them for what they are – things that allow you to grow.

Full profile on Psychology Today →I follow you — the unique individual in front of me.
I’m an integrative, relational therapist. I don’t work from one fixed model.
Integrative
I am trained to draw from several different approaches, including but not limited to, person-centred, psychodynamic, and CBT. My core belief is that each person is unique and therefore needs a unique approach tailored to them.
Relational
We will explore the relationships you have or had in your life: childhood, past, present, and our therapeutic relationship. Our early relationships have a huge impact on us, and we can repeat patterns into our adult life, sometimes without realising. By exploring this, we can see where things started, where they are continuing, and where they could instead go in the future.
I won’t promise you’ll leave with certainty or a clean answer. I will promise you a unique and special space where we can do this work together.
